Thucydides’ Market

Next to the beach and the marina of Alimos, thucydides market offers many options to visitors of the city. In shopping malls, you can find everything from clothes and food to mobile phones. There are also restaurants with Greek and international cuisine, as well as cafés where you can enjoy your drink.

On this main road there is a bank and a JEP, where citizens can carry out various procedures, while this is where bus line 141 passes.

Market of Dodekanisou Street

Dodekanisou Street is the most central street in Ano Kalamaki. It starts from Vouliagmeni Avenue and ends in Ionia Avenue. It is also the main street of the city.

You can utilize public transportation. Specifically, you can have access by bus lines 109 and 101 and from the metro stops “Alimos” and “Ilioupoli”.

In the Dodecanese market and on Ionia Avenue there are branches of banks, JEPs and post office, shops, restaurants and cafes.

ALIMOU BEACHES

1st Plaz Alimou

It is located in front of the tram stop “Kalamaki” and the entrance is free, without a ticket. Within the beach there are facilities, for showers and cabins for bathers to change.

On the beach there is a café and there is the possibility of renting lying down.

Organized beach “Coast of the Sun”

The Sun Coast on alimos beach is a popular destination for swimming and fun.

The first organized beach that one encounters from the center of Athens, with easy access by tram, bus or car. The beach is covered with white sand and fine pebbles, along you will find shady trees, palm trees and a large area of lawn.

Guests can relax on sun loungers under umbrellas and enjoy the clear blue waters and all the comforts offered by the Sun Coast. Security, cleanliness and service staff of the Coast are at your disposal, so that every visitor can enjoy carefree all the amenities offered by the Sun Coast.

Facilities include changing rooms, toilets, volleyball courts, racket area, refreshments, restaurants and cafes.

Guests who love water sports can rent a canoe and a water bike.

Admission for Alimos citizens is free.

2nd Plaz (Alimos Baths)

It is located in front of the tram stop “Loutra” and access is free. There are two Beach Bars with food and drink on the beach, and there are umbrellas and sunbeds for rent.

MARINA ALIMOU

Alimos Marina is one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean and a key pillar of maritime tourism in the Attica region.

It is located along the coastal zone of the Municipality of Alimos, in a strategic position on the Athenian Riviera, approximately 15 km from the center of Athens and 30 km from Athens International Airport, with direct and easy access.

The marina comprises 979 berths for recreational vessels and extends over a land area of 209,816 sq.m. and a sea area of 427,950 sq.m., serving as a primary point of departure for the Saronic Gulf and the Cyclades.

Alimos Marina is currently undergoing a comprehensive upgrade as part of a modern development plan focused on the improvement of port and onshore infrastructure, the functional enhancement of services, and the overall redevelopment of the waterfront area.

The development is being implemented with respect for the environment and the urban fabric, strengthening the marina’s role as a key maritime tourism hub and contributing to sustainable development and the local economy of the Municipality of Alimos.
